Causes and Solutions of Toilet Leakage(2)

Causes of toilet leaks and how to deal with them

1. Water tank failure

Damage to the buoy inside the water tank and loose connection between the buoy and the water inlet switch will cause the toilet to leak. You can open the water tank of the toilet, and pull up and down the clamping position of the buoy by hand to see if the buoy is sensitive. If it is difficult to move, there is a problem with the buoy. Then check the connection between the water tank float and the water inlet switch. If the float is in place but the switch is not turned off, it will also cause the toilet to leak.

Solution:If the connection is loose, just tighten it. If the buoy is damaged, the buoy can be removed and cleaned first. If it cannot be used normally after cleaning, the buoy can only be replaced.

2. The water inlet valve does not have a filter

If the water inlet valve is not equipped with a filter screen, impurities in the water will easily block the small hole of the sealing ring of the toilet tank, resulting in the water inlet valve not being able to close, and the seal failure resulting in water leakage.

Solution: After cleaning the sealing ring, install the filter.

3. Drain valve failure

The toilet drain valve is mainly in charge of the water in the toilet tank. Generally speaking, in many cases, there may be a problem with the toilet drain valve. There may be cracks and deformations in the mounting holes, or a series of reasons caused by careless installation.

Solution: Since the drain valve needs to be tested with many professional tools, it is recommended to ask professionals for maintenance.

4. The water inlet pipe is faulty

The water inlet pipe of the toilet is a long strip of water pipe. After a long time of use, the rubber ring or the pipe itself will become dry and hard, causing water leakage problems.

Solution: To change the water inlet pipe of the toilet, a new water inlet pipe must be equipped first, and all the water in the water tank must be emptied before replacement. When replacing, just unscrew the screw caps at both ends of the water inlet pipe, remove the old water inlet pipe, install a new water inlet pipe, and then tighten the screw caps at both ends.

5. Downpipe failure

The leakage of the toilet tank may also be due to the problem of the sewer pipe. The sewer pipe is a pipe that transports water connected to the toilet tank. There is a high possibility that the toilet tank will leak due to a problem here.

Solution: Check carefully whether the interface between the toilet and the sewer pipe is loose or the pipe is broken. If it is, you need to replace the pipe again; if it is just not connected, you can use some iron wire or fixing materials to fix it.

6. The toilet seal is aging

The toilet sealing ring is the medium placed between the sewage outlet and the toilet drain hole, which acts as a seal. The aging or damage of the toilet sealing ring will cause water leakage at the bottom of the toilet.

Solution:Just replace the new sealing ring in time. It is best to apply a layer of glass glue around the base to seal it tightly.
